So what if we're isolated? I have to say out of all the schools Ive been to that Tech is the only one I miss. For a Tech fan it isnt all about cash unlike most other spots. We just dont give a damn. That's why if we beat a rival team (normally UT or those damned aggies) we're the ones getting in trouble for rushing the field throwing batteries tortillas etc. So Tennessee would be a step down not necessarily bc it might or might not pay better, but bc they're not Tech. Same with any other school

I'm no SEC fan, but Tennessee is one of the best jobs in the country. They've got the biggest stadium outside of the Big Ten, and arguably the best home field advantage in college football. They're kings in their own state and have SEC money. Texas Tech will always be third fiddle in its own state. It may be in Texas, but it's only the 7th largest university in Texas and its endowment is less than 10% of the Longhorns or the Aggies. And Lubbock is very, very isolated.

You're right, but it's common sense for those who are already used to winter weather. I, on the other hand, found these tips quite helpful, since I live in an island (Puerto Rico), and never traveled to cold places. But THIS winter I have to travel to IOWA which is -7 right now and was desperate for winter tips. I only use powder, but I know now that it's NO good for me.. thanks to those "common sense" tips. ^_^* See? They helped me. lol

I always use my hair drier on a low setting to warm up shadesticks or eyeliner pencils, too. Just in case you don't have a lighter lying around in your bathroom :)

Dont open up your aperture the whole way... DOF should also be a consideration. Especially if say you are doing a cityscape. Wide open your DOF will become shallow. If you're using a tripod, (which you should be) aperture doesn't really matter. If you have any sort of noise reduction for your camera turn it on. It'll help with the image sensor heating up and creating more noise due to the longer shutter speed.

You can increase the f-number for a bigger depth of field, but it will subsequently need a longer exposure - and if it goes beyond 30 seconds, most DSLRs will need an optional cable release.

I also learned that tomatoe greens (the part on the tomatoe top that is attached to the vine, plus the vine for that matter) is highly toxic to cats and can cause kidney damage, even death. I don't know about "best" but there are so many. contrary to popular belief, vegetables do have protein, though not as much as soy. beans, nuts, and soy have lots of protein. though, we do not need tons of protein. most people probably get twice as much as they need, and too much protein, especially animal protein, can cause cancer. basically, you can't get a protein deficiancy unless you just dont eat. you also can get iron from leaft greens and omega 3 from flax seed oil instead of fish.

basically you go into your bios by hitting the DEL key when your computer first starts up. the most basic way to overclock is by just increasing your fsb speed. stock is usually 200MHz. What you are doing is telling the processor to do it's math faster, no CPU is the same because they are so complex, AMD/INTEL find a speed that all their processors run at and they pin it there, you are just finding it's max speed that it can operate at.

Use calimine lotion (its what you use if you have poison ivy or something like that) it in a pink bottle and just rub it over the shoe not the shank and give it a couple of hours to dry. Or some of my friends use face powder

See, our dance teacher has us simply crisscross the ribbons once in front and once in back, then tie a knot on the inside of the foot. The extra ribbon is cut off and the edges burned (which keeps it from fraying). My shoes are Capezio Glisse, and they are wonderful. The rest of my class uses Bloch (I went to a diffent retail) and their arch isn't nearly as good. I think I got lucky there. :)

I have a question about turning I have been dancing now for 13years and STILL can't get the head right my teacher uses the leave and whip way to try and teach us but it just makes my head hurt REALLY bad and I know I'm not going to get anywhere if I can't turn properly so what I was wondering is if theres a way of turning without making my head hurt!! i wear them too! once i felt strong enough in extraflex, i switched to supple. now i'm back to extraflex because i broke a big toe over three months ago; that wasn't caused from dancing. i'm only doing releves so i don't reinjure it, but it feels wonderful! :D

its actually mostly dependent on your strength not how well you can dance. And a big part is your age because your foot muscle or bone stuff isn't fully developed until a certain age which is around twelve. if you start too soon before that you can easily permanently damage your feet and you wont be able to dance again or well. so obviously if you try a pair of pointe shoes on and they dont hurt when you walk around, even tho ur feet and legs are shaking, it doesnt mean your ready for pointe :)

I have a flat foot lol. But Ballet helps it a lot, actually. And if you're legs are strong, it shouldn't take too long. Just make sure you pay attention in the class because the faster you learn the sooner you'll go up en pointe.

I have Gaynor Minden pointe shoes and they really are perfect and made to fit me. They're based in America though, so you can just go on their website and send in your details on your foot and they choose the shoe to fit you, and they certainly pick well! I've worn GM pointe shoes since I was twelve and I'm now fourteen, only needed a new pair just at the beginning of this year, they certainly last well too :)xx
