Because of my work schedule, I did not see this interview. However, now I understand the joke when Tina Faye as Sarah Palin says "I don't want to talk about that, lets talk about this." She was like a programed robot, who could not give a straight answer. SHe did not seem to know what she is talking about. Also reminded me of some of the PLO reps in the late 70's or early 80's when questioned by American newspeople, who also could not give a straight answer, only rhetoric. Couric exposed her.

This version and Avril Lavigne's versions are barely comparable to one another, even though they are the same song. Sarah sings it with emotion and variation and it sounds amazing, but Avril sings it straight and simple and clean, which sounds good also. But I do think Sarah has a leg up because it /is/ her song, so she has more of a reason to sing it. Is it really necessary to bash the different versions? People make good and bad covers of other music all the time. Imitation is flattery?

i think avril is very talented, but how could anyone compare the two versions together? Sarah wrote this song and she knows exactly what she's talking about when she sings Adia. Avril does not know this "Adia" nor does she understand the circumstances, so she's simply singing words with no meaning. it's not all about vocals (although, I think Sarah definitely wins in that department), but it's about understanding the emotion behind the song as well.
