i admire you enchongjake for knowing so much about UST...my Gudness...bakit hindi ineexplain yan sa mga Thomasians? I studied in UST for 4 years and never did any professors advocate school pride...dapat siguro isama yan sa isa sa mga subjects ng mga Thomasians...this could improve 'love' for the school.

FYI, during the Spanish period, UST is the governing body for education, parang Deped at CHED. kontrolado ng UST ang lahat ng schools sa buong Pilipinas during that time. Lahat ng Professors during that time kailangan kumuha ng license from UST. at 80% ng faculty members ng UST galing sa mga universities sa Europe. Siguro nga, UST is not the best institution but STILL ONE OF THE BEST.

hindi po totoong University of San Carlos ang oldest university in the country, UST still holds the title, the oldest was the Unibersidad de San Ignacio in 1595 by the Jesuits, it will closed because of the expulsion of Jesuits in the country, then the campus grounds was vacated for sometime and it reopened after almost a century until it became University of San Carlos by SVD which is different from Jesuits.

on the vid mentioned, i believe the twists are "in-sync" with the cheer: "we are the tigers, the mighty, mighty tigers, we came to cheer, 1 (1st twist), 2 (2nd twist), 3, and to win it with no fear" compare it with the first toss in the beginning of the routine (full twist x-out layout), you'll see the difference

tsaka tingnan mo naman sa video na to dito kung pano siya nagtwist.. remember that in full twist layout , the flip and the twist/s are done simultaneously. kung may naskip na frame ang video na to, saan pwedeng sumingit ung isa pang twist? wala di ba? may video din kaya yung friend ko sa likod.. analog kasi kaya di niya maipost.. ayon kita dun na single twist lang

You know why? Because UST Salinggawi is a dance troupe. Ang focus ng training nila ay dancing, not cheerleading. And no, it's not an excuse. It's the truth. Ang pagsali sali nila sa CDC ay bonus lang. At oo swerte lang ang Gawi at mayron silang member na gymnast tulad ni Jem. All the rest are just dancers. Kaya yung pinapakita at naabot nila sa CDC ay malaking bagay na considering na lumalaban sila sa competition na hindi nila forte, di tulad ng ibang squad na sadyang binuo para sa CDC talaga.

Sa UP ung pino sa toss gumigewang nman sa lift at pyramids. * Yung nkgawa ng matuwid na fulltwist siya si "T" sa Tugod. * Yung ngkick double full twist, siya naman iyong gumiwang sa 2nd pyramid. pero at least khit na hindi pantay ung mga kamay ng lifter ni Tugod eh di parin siya natumba, putek!! ngawa p nyang mag fulltwist dismount si kickdouble naman khit gumewang n siya pilit pring tnaas ung isang paa niya para mabuo ung pyramid.kya buo parin ung pyramid. ako naman bilib dun sa mga nagtoss dun sa pangatlong babaeng nagfulltwist sa UP. Pano naman kasi yung tinoss nila e ung pinakamatabang babae sa UP.. hindi kaya flyer un. lifter talaga siya, tinoss lang siya kasi kaya niya magfulltwist. siya ung nagbuhat dun sa babae sa gitna ng 3rd pyramid tingnan nyo kung gano kalaki braso niya. Naku kung ako lang magtotoss dun baka napisa na ako, pumaharap pa nga sya sa toss niya e kaya pansin nyo nagmove ung mga base hahaha ang bigat kasi nun.. Go taba!!

Haha. Actually kapuri puri naman si Jermae talaga. Pero habang pinupuri niyo siya ng pinupuri mas lalo niyong pinapatunayan na sa kanya lang talaga ang credit. at hindi sa UST salinggawi. imagine high school pa lang siya asa SDT na siya.Nag aantay lang sila ng talents. unlike sa UP, wala kami pakialam sa names oh particular members kasi ang dami nila eh. so sa UP Pep Squad ang credit dahil naproduce ung mga talents dahil sa training ng Pep at hindi dahil nag aantay lang ng talents.

In terms of tosses, ung 4 fulltwist ng UP ang pinaka nag stand out, aminin natin un! 1st those were fulltwists, 2nd the height was very high, at pangatlo apat silang gumawa e. not 1 not 2 not 3, 4 full twists! ---- di po ako taga UP ahh critique lang ako na tagamalayong lugar

Mas maganda ung X-out ng UP lastyear by former capt. Andrea Gonzales super straight kasi ung paa niya. kaysa kay Capt. Angel Sison. weh?! hindi nman! ung unang nagfulltwist she was very smooth tapos straight din ung paa hanggang sa dismount nya. (FYI siya si "T" sa TUGOD) tsaka kakaiba kumpas ng kamay niya.ung pang-apat ang taas ng tapon sa kanya, ung twisting very smooth, mganda din ang hand positioning niya, pero d gaanong straight dun sa second half cycle ng flip niya. Ung kay miss Jermae i know she's very good kaya lang honestly walang dating ung frontfull, tsaka ang baba ng height. sana ng fulltwist layout n lang siya.

Nung bumalik sila ng 99-01, aba! naging barrio fiesta ang ginagawa ng mga squads, lalo na yung isang kulay Regla at Ampalaya(arnis WTF?!). buti nabalik nila sa dati come 2002.Hindi kasi alam nung mga iba jan, UST at La Salle ang ORIGINAL na rivalry sa CDC, amplified syempre nung rivalry nila during the 4-peat era. Ewan ko ba kung bakit nakiki-rival yung mga iba jan. Iba talaga ang Tatak ng TOMASINONG TALENTO!

Ang galing! Considering that they are not cheerleaders but dancers. Salinggawi is truly the epitome of versatility (one element other squads do not have). Cheerdance after all is not a circus or whatsoever, you still need to dance while performing stunts, choreography is very important. This troupe shows what cheerdance really is. I see a lot of improvements with this routine. I observed na nakikipagsabayan na kayo kung ano ang hanap ng crowd. Yep! Pero siyempre may flaws pa rin. Training pa sa gymnastics tsaka onting difficulty pa sa transitions, stunts at tosses. Naku! I'm sure you'll be able to get your title back as Champions. Yeah, I see your point. Pero na-lilimit ung creativity ng squad sa isang set ng rules dahil gusto lang nilang manalo. Yes, its a competition but, they also have the responsibility to entertain the crowd. In my opinion, yun ung reason kung bakit mas sinusuportahan ng crowd ang mga squads sa uaap, nakakaaliw sila. Di parang sa US na limited lang talaga ung mga taong pumupunta sa mga competitons just to support their squads. Anyway it's just my opinion! ;-)

I think its about time na makipagsabayan na tayo sa bagong standards when it comes to cheerleading. Yep! Oo nagset na ang UAAP ng bagong trend when it comes to cheerleading and we call it cheerdancing. Pero dont you find it really more exciting kung someday makikita natin ang UST or UP perhaps makipagcompete din sa ibang bansa? Think about that.

Maraming pauso ang UP this year eh, since sila ang host. I heard ipapattern daw sa NCC even the rules and criteria for judging. Independent na din daw ang magiging judges. Ewan ko lang kung totoo. If it is, let's see if it will be in favor of them or not. I think not. XD

kapag ganun ang ginawa nila, papangit na ang uaap cdc... magiging cheerleading competition na lang siya. parang ncc, not as exciting and entertaining. so magiging pataasan na lang ng tosses at pahirapan ng stunts and uaap cdc. mababawasan ung dance part eh un nga ung nagseset sa uaap cdc apart from other competitions... haaaay! anyway, kung may ganoon mangpagbabago, good luck sa lahat ng squads.
