You said that Odom and Gasol would BOTH be playing in Bynums position, so I used Odom as an example to why you are completely wrong. Odom and Gasol are both Power Forwards, not Centers...big difference there numbnuts. Gasol is not a true center but played F/C while Bynum was gone, but with Bynum back he goes back to PF and Bynum is the center. Makes a pretty big difference I'd say, especially when up against the big men on the Celtics: Bynum has 50+lbs on Odom.

See I think many of the mistakes the Lakers r making r because they r a lil cocky & they play to the level of their opponents. Granted the defense hasn't been the best over the last couple of wks. But I c improvements bcuz I beleive Kobe realizes the urgency & so he has stepped up, Fish too, & I have confidence that the rest of the team will improve as well as the season progresses. All teams r making mistakes including the C's but they have many vets that can close while we r relatively young.

I dont care how you want to look at it,when a team gives up 109 PPG and 47% shooting, which is what the 1987 Lakers gave up,that is a BAD DEFENSIVE TEAM! You simply cant win a championship playing that style anymore! I dont mean to take anything from the 80s Lakers,no one can ever take away what they accomplished, but they came at the right time! The only way they would be able to win in the 90s or today is if they DRASTICALLY improved their defense, which I highly doubt they would be able to!

As for Friday's game (KIngs again), Lakers need to find a way to contain Bobby Jackson. He's the huge factor for the Kings. Players with Andrew Bynum who average 15-20 points per game, Gasol consistency, and of course Kobe's agressive scoring, others need to step up big. Trevor Ariza shows consistency on offense and defense, but others need to step up. It'll be interesting to see how Lakers will respond to them Friday since Kings hand them a loss last night.

We'll see how Lakers will respond to tonight's game against the Suns. If they show same results (lack of defense) then something wrong. Either someone forgot to eat breakfest morning or not all their dogs are barking. Lakers should beat the Suns without Shaq. I do believe Lakers CAN beat the Celtics, it's up to them if they want the game or not. They need some kind of rythm to adjust to their defense. They have great offense. We'll see.

He's used the Odom-Gasol-Bynum trio a couple times during the Pre-Season, and it really didn't work well together. I was watching the game and the spacing was fairly bad due to L.O. not being a 3-Point shooter. He's not productive out there at all. This is where Radmanovic comes in; mainly for his 3-Point shooting. He spreads the floor out and gives Bynum and Gasol room to work around the paint.
