Even people for the 2nd Amendment believe their should be an assualt weapons ban and a mandatory background check on gun purchases, but the NRA isn't willing to go that far. Its the National Rifle Association, their members are just so gun crazy, a lot of their members don't care about gun laws. The Second Amendment is like a license to steal for them. Ironic that Charleton Heston attacked Ice-T for "Cop Killer", since as Ice-T pointed out, the NRA which Heston was president often carried and shared "cop killer" bullets. I can understand buying one but trying to make everyone in the world get a firearm is just bizarre. There's a real "survivalist" aspect to them.

Well it seems a lot of "good" people are packing in the USA, and thanks to gunshows, kids can buy automatic weapons. There are countries which do have a fair amount of firearms in citizens hands, and Canada does have a large gunownership, not massive maybe. But America still has the highest amount of gun violence in the world. Access to guns is one reason but another seems to be this "Wild West" mentality that seems to exist in the US.
