I just got 1 of 4 I need done, yesterday, and it wasn't bad @ all. I go back in tomorrow to get started on the molars. And I'm going to a Dental school to get all this done. The reason is might hurt worse for some ppl, is because A.) the pain can depend on how badly infected the tooth is B.) Some ppl have a higher pain tolerance than others C.) You need to more novacaine. If it's hurting during the procedure, U NEED TO TELL THEM. It's not supposed to hurt.

you are not really meant to wet the board because the clay doesn't stick to the board as well, but its your choice, you also need to imagine the pot is bigger then it is when you are pulling up otherwise you end up with a bad rim.

My bats are home-made from 3/4 particle board. These were scraps from a cabinet shop. The most important thing about using bats is to make a wire cut soon after throwing within 1 hour. Then cut again a few times as the pieces set up. This along with compressing the bottom during throwing will prevent the dreaded bottom cracks as they dry. Tony

No, I'm just a fellow learner! If you are open to advice: a good way to learn as you watch these videos is to observe the body positions and movements. Try to watch the person's hands more than you watch the clay. And then also, watch the whole body, not just the hands. You can even imitate the movements as you watch. Then practice what you saw with clay, and find out what works for you. Also, relaxed concentration, or "intention" is important. Happy Throwing!

It could be that you need softer clay, but if issue seems your physical strength, check to see if you're bracing your elbow against your leg. You can put your elbow on the inside of your knee or thigh, and use that to anchor your arm. Your arm doesn't have to stay still on its own strength. You can even push just a little with your leg.

I like the Bagua style if you are a person that cannot use strength to damage a person. Instead of Hung Gar which demonstrates the solid rock. A lot of good centrifugal force is used which is amazing since I tend to get a dizzy after training with circles but those who master it have a potent advantage.

Thats a good question..lol To be honest in my opinion I think Wudang BaGua has a lot of modern WuShu influence. I could be wrong , but thats just my feelings on the matter. I like Yin style because its more to the point far combat, then most of the BaGua systems I've encounter.

Of course...I get that. But Aikido's distinctiveness is, at least in part, due to its waza. You mistake me if you take me for someone who dismisses Aikido as worthless. I'm merely asserting that the "way" it is practiced in all to many dojos is very contrived and choreographed so as to give the practioner a false illusion of efficacy. To me Aikido is more akin to Kendo or Kyudo as martial arts - and less like MMA or other modern fighting arts.

Proof of this can be seen in the demo video itself. Between each attack, before the moment nage applies the waza, uke can be seen waiting passively for the designated waza to be applied. In all but one or two there is a "beat" in which uke simple waits passively. Uke's attack consists of a narrowly prescribed attack after which he awaits the waza until he can perform the prescribed ukemi. Ketsan, I practiced Aikido for over 13 years under USAF, AAA, and an independant dojo. Along the way I attended numerous seminars conducted by ASU,Iwama,& Aikikai instructors. And while no two dojo's practice exactly the same, there is a great degree of commonality between them with respect to the contrived nature of the waza and ukemi. Please don't mistake me, I love Aikido for what it is and think it is a beautiful and difficult art. But the way it it practiced in MOST dojos is contrived.

The interface is still a nightmare, font adjustment needs to be done via the notes.ini file (what user wants to mess with this?!?), contact management is still archaic and unusable (where are the vCards folks?), why does it take so many clicks to make basic changes to the user environment? too bad its not bill. I have been a Lotus Fan for 12 years. This is a sad, sad build. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty and has cool functionality, but if you don't have a really up to date computer... You will not be happy with how this perfoms. I'm running a 1.7GHz machine with 2 GB ram, local replicas and its really slow. I'm sure it runs great on any dual core machine or a machine that is over 3GHz... But you'll still need the ram.

True. You can never tell how you will be in a fight till you get in one. Most Dojos don't do stress testing or even find out if their students have a problem with closing their eyes when punched at. I was applauded for my form and technique at every dojo I attended, but the first fight I got into my eyes were closed the whole time. MA will not turn Danial San into a badass. Only real experience and PROPER training can. I do think on SOME level aikido training can be useful, however.

in order to deflect a punch you must see it coming, then react and make your arm get go where it needs to go to deflect or catch the punch. i know for sure most people cant do this with my punch when they are expecting it - let alone fo real. im sorry for sounding macho, i dont see a "master" being able to do much against me with this technique. sorry, thats my belief, ive seen aikido done to a high standard infront of me and i had to leave because it made me laugh. great in the dojo.....

I bought one of these a couple weeks ago. I've been experimenting with it quite a bit since then, burning big chunks, small chunks, sticks stacked vertically, sticks stacked horizontally, hardwoods, softwoods, pine needles, pine cones, wood pellets, etc, etc. I like it a lot. It boils water faster than our GE gas range. Its ultimate use will be to heat bath water at our cabin. Ponderosa pine needles carpet the ground inches thick there.
