I will admit...I find Coldplay as one of the most over-rated band's in the world right now. If it weren't for Violet Hill, I would completely hate them. I was never a Coldplay fan until Viva La Vida. the feeling from that album is so dreamy, yet original and not as showy as their other stuff. I also had an amazing, detailed, sexy dream inspired by this song/video. in it, me and this guy i used to know were on a roadtrip through europe. we stopped to take in the scenery, and we tried shrooms. before i knew it we were rolling (in more ways than one) down a hill and things got heavy. (^^) Now i always listen to this when i go to sleep!

I think they could have done a lot more with this. I don't know most of the lyrics, but a lot of what I hear just brings a Civil War story to mind between a low-class militia and a upper-class woman. The violet hill ending gave me a sense of them sitting atop a small hill with premature violets, or a pink and purple sunset. Mabe it's just my overreacting imagination (again). I have to disagree. I loved Lovers In Japan and the rest of that album. I also loved the extended play album Prospekt's March. Life in Technicolor II was AWESOME. Coldplay's old music was AWESOME and they aren't getting worse, at least in my opinion.

i agree, most bands can't play live today because they are studio manufactured. I'm glad you included Genesis, i saw them live last year for the first time, it was amazing. I will never see another concert cause it wouldn't come close to Genesis. They are in their late 50's early 60's and blow young bands out of the water with their talent.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have taken a moment to appreciate that this is a great song from before the time that Coldplay decided to become "epic" and " our goal is to become one of the great bands like U2", back when they cared more about thier music.
