When you upload your videos from hg10 to comp it will be in mt2s format or some crap like that. If you upload it straight from that format into youtube it wont work. You have to put it onto sony vegas or some program that takes HDMI files and re render it into avi/wmv. So far I have the problem of uploading it in "watch in HD" format. Some of them came out good on my profile and some didnt. Hope this helps =]

The presenter says that moving the camera causes smearing on cameras using CCDs while CMOS cameras like this one don't. Correction: CCD cameras will have smearing ONLY when shooting a strong light source (like a car's lights at night). However, the "smearing" that occurs when moving the camera around is an inherent problem of all CMOS sensor based cameras, not the CCD ones. Most consumer level cameras use CMOS, because it's cheaper to make. The announcer claims the opposite, which is wrong.

I have an HG10 but when i upload it and move it onto Sony Vegas, it dont work. It says it doesnt read (the HDMI files). I have to convert it to AVI before i put it on Sony Vegas (its really stressing).

Hey juans909s yes the HG10 is fully compatable with apple but its best to have the latest version of Final Cut. Canon converts the best with apple and JVC cameras are okay too. However, there are alot of problems with getting footage off of Sony cameras and Pannasonic as far as I know are not compatable. I hope that helps

Yeah, I've seen the quality of the videos of the HV30 -- and I love them much. However, I prefer to avoid tapes. I honestly am not an avid videographer -- honestly, I just started getting into it, so I still have lots to learn. I used FCE4.0 - and I haven't had an issue with converting anything. I would definitely love to have an HV30, however I was able to get the HG20 for $600 - so I stuck with that.

To LUCKYBREAKPRODUCTION I bought a wirelessmicrophone on Ebay for about $70-$80 and it retails for only about $150. It has never given me problems with audio and I use it for almost everything. video quality is bellow average. Windows dosnt support the audio codec and we have to dig the internet to get the proper audio codec but still some editing software dosnt support the audio codec. Overall i will give only 2 thumbs up, one for the size of the camcorder and other for its battery life.

Very nice unboxing and review of the features. I have the Xacti HD1000 and it's the best camera I've ever owned. I was hoping the 1010 would be more of an upgrade so I'll wait at least another generation before upgrading. I'll be awaiting your vid where you tell the differences between the new and older generations. It really is unconsionable that Sanyo doesn't have an auto lens cover on such an expensive camera. Best I can tell you is a T.V. card with S vid capability have you tried to contact Sony U.S.they would likely replace the disc for you if not,and I'm able to do so without getting us both in trouble I could send you a copy when my camera comes,if you have your key code from your camera it should work.

Yes it does, camera is also plug-in mic capable. Like most camcorders it's a reasonable stereo electret condensor omni directional mic - not pro quality, and susceptible to wind and cam motor noises in quiet environs.

I'm PAL, so the PF25 simplifies things on our 25fps/50Hz PAL video. To burn progressive PF25 footage I use DVD Studio Pro, whilst it supports 24 or 25 fps files it uses frame doubling to conform to the HD DVD spec, so DVD can be 59.94p or 50p for PAL.

How can I export my 24p footages to dvd? Have you tried burning this project to DVD? If so did you have to convert it to 29.976 with a pull down? What's the point of shooting in 24p if you have to convert it back to 60i in order to play it on a ntsc interlaced tv? But does it still have that film look? Let me know thanks.

Basically, people started going to CVS pharmacy and buying the one time use vid cameras. Pure Digital (company that makes flip) made those cameras. anyways, people started buying the cameras (15.00) and modding them so that they can use them over and over without turning the camera in. they attach a USB cable to the top and hacked a program to download the vids. The only differences. flip looks better, it has 2x zoom (CVS camera has no zoom) and the flip USB) really this camera should cost 30.00

Hey, I just got a newer model today, the dcr sr46, and there only seems to be an av and a usb port, I can't find anything for a firewire or dc or anything like that. There's no docking port on this model, either. Is going through the annoying program that comes with it and downloading the video files on the program then converting the ones i want to wmv then taking the wmvs into another program to edit it them really all i can do? is there no usb-to-firewire option or anything like that?

guys, trust me. this camera is nothing but frustration and disappointment. i bought this for like 800 dollars and it isnt worth half the money. the resolution is really bad, the image quality is very blurry and gray. even at highest quality. you cant edit it with movie maker. the camera is overpriced. the battery life is short. the nightshot light only appears on the right half of the screen because the lens is in the way. when just walking, the hdd protection turns on, interupting the recording

if you can get this cam for under 149.99 then its a pretty good buy. Needs lots of light though or you get visible noise and artifacting..I just picked one up for YouTube video posts only so we'll see how it all turns out. :)

Thanks for the video. I have been trying to get my mini-DV camcorder to work with YouTube's quick capture feature. The video portion works, but not the audio portion. I hope this will do it.
