He has the best control in his voice i have seen in any human being, his control is better than even the best of western vocalists like Luciano Pavarotti for example. I mean when he changes in his pitch and is making the inflections, i can not hear any stoppage, and the transition is completely linear and free of any disruptions in tone, or voice. The most polished voice i have heard in my life. Period. It must have taken him years of practice to become so perfect. Allah is great.

OK. Now to clear up the problem of the Shaykh's beard, yes it is important to let the beard grow, and the Prophet peace be upon him ordered us to do so. Abdul basit lived in a time when there was a lot of communism going around and lot's of people had some messed up ideas, and were messing up the ideas of the Muslims. Probably the reason why the Shaykh (who has passed away, may Allah have mercy on him) didn't have a beard was because he didn't know. Jazakumullahu khayr. Salaam.

if he is better than we will ever be why didnt the messenger (muhamed pbuh) teach us that "ABDUL BASIT (or a recier or simmilar)" will be greater than all of this generation? no, allah knows best. plus his qirat recitation has a "madth" of approximately "10 counts" which is over the maximum in that verse of "6 counts" and some scholars agree it to be a maximum of "5 counts". sory but egyptians cant have a beard? says who and where, i reverted to islam through a bearded family of egyptians!!!!!!!
