Joseph's Father: It is important to note that Matthew is written to a Jewish audience, and Luke (written by the doctor... Luke) is more regimented and gives more detail. To a Jew reading Matthew, they were most concerned that Joseph came from the line of Jacob... and when Matthew uses father, the greek word is "gennao" which more accurately means "to beget", "cause to arise" in the metaphorical tense of the word. Luke is speaking of Joseph's LITERAL father, Heli! CONTEXT, CONTEXT, CONTEXT!!!!

Out of all of these "inerrancies," I was only really inclined to look up 2 of these in the actual text. (Be warned that when studying any literature, CONTEXT IS EVERYTHING!) Genesis account of the animals: Anyone who has studied Genesis knows that it is written in typical Hebraic Literary style. In other words, things are first described generally and then are elaborated on. Clean animal specifications are not made until Genesis 7, when a general 2 by 2 command is made in Ch. 6

Why don't you disprove his video with real evidence, then? Or should we have faith and simply believe you?

Askegg you really should do reasearch before posting a list like this it is just sloppy to anyone who gets the bible. (BTW god took back the curse from Jehoiakim's line in Haggai 2 :23 anyone who has read the bible knows this)

//Some of the reasons are that no authors of the time cited Josephus's work,// wrong. Origen did cite one of the 2 references to Jesus And about Josephus- Part of the paragraph is considered to be an insertion-but once this is removed most scholars accept the reference as authentic.Google Louis Feldman's study on the Josephus passage .

"Word of God"? But at the same time you say it has errors. So this means your God makes mistakes? Sometimes? Often? You can see there's a boatload of them in the bible alone. You sure as hell can't claim he's infallible. What other mistakes has he made? Is he even a real God or a just God wannabe? Or is it perhaps possible that the bible was written by a bunch of bored guys who lived centuries ago, who didn't even bother proof reading their own crap?

Nice vid. I would like to add a strange event from Genesis that I truly don't understand. Well God, this everexisting, overall deity to fundy christians, created the world in six days. day seven was a resting days. Please, please tell me why a God, allmighty, allseeing and allknowing, needs a resting day. Did he longue for his Wii to play? Did his wife wanted to go on a ride? Where there reruns of the dukes of hazard on? pff boggles me. time for a rest.

"there is at least some 'evidence' that a person named Jesus did exist." I'm curious, if you are referring to the work of Josephus, that is going to have to be carefully examined. Many people have good reason to see that as a forgery. Some of the reasons are that no authors of the time cited Josephus's work, but most importantly the language and placement of the text is different, and odd.
By: ThatOneQuestion. on 25 Aug 08, 20:44:27
"It might be more accurate to say, "Kellybob, your concept of Jesus didn't exist." Just my two cents..." Thats actually what I meant =) I'm as sure there was a historical person for whom another modern incarnation of the idea of Attis/Jesus/etc was created, as I am that Dracula was born out of the imagination of an author who knew about Vlad the Impaler. Its the myth of Attis/Jesus that didn't exist, not the root. Every legend has a root somewhere.
By: Schmoikel. on 25 Aug 08, 20:38:34
"I'm sorry, kellybob1966, your Jesus didn't exist." I'm not sure I'd agree with on that TOQ. While there are no contemporary historians at the time of Jesus that bother to mention him, there is at least some 'evidence' that a person named Jesus did exist. However, any divinity, magical powers, etc... are clearly 'borrowed' from previous stories, Attis being just one of them It might be more accurate to say, "Kellybob, your concept of Jesus didn't exist." Just my two cents...
